Diet suggestions for GERD

When looking for a comprehensive diet that will ease your GERD symptoms you have to be prepared for  extensive experiments because there’s not simple solution to this problem. There are a lot of people with acid reflux problems out there and most of them don’t even think of ways to relieve the condition. And the hardest part of it is that everything is individual and what might work for one person could be ineffective for the other. Although there are some suggestions on diet for GERD that you may found useful.

The most obvious diet for GERD consists of foods that are typical to your regimen and are included in common nutritional charts. There are no strict diet rules for acid reflux patients as some may think. It all boils down to eating low fat foods such as turkey and fish along with greens and other vegetables. When it comes to breads it is suggested to eat whole grain wheat breads made with low fat milk.

To help you better understand the range of products you’ll have to stick to with GERD you simply have to avoid all foods that actually trigger acid reflux symptoms in your case.

These products usually contain spicy, salty and acid ingredients that can cause irritation in the stomach and esophagus. But this doesn’t necessarily mean that all GERD patients have to avoid spicy foods. Fact is that some people with acid reflux problems don’t have any symptoms while eating these foods while having bad heartburn after eating fruits or other products that are considered to be normal. So it’s all very individual and you have to know your personal preferences.

There are specific types of foods that are usually seen as being good for GERD patients. These foods include fruits and vegetables, egg whites, fish, ground beef, cheese, chicken breast and turkey. By sticking to these types of food you’ll be able to control your acid reflux symptoms because these foods are considered to be chemically neutral and do not cause excessive acid production in the stomach. Otherwise you may constantly need drugs like Nexium to calm down the acid in your stomach and stop that awful heartburn.

However, it’s not only in the food you eat. Certain lifestyle changes are also very good for controlling acid reflux problems and it can amaze you how simple this all may sound. First of all, any GERD patient should avoid eating right before bedtime. Different clinical trials have shown that eating in less then three hours before bedtime significantly increases the risk of experiencing heartburn and other GERD symptoms.

But it’s not only a matter of sleeping right after bedtime. Your position after taking the meal is what is really important. If you tend to lie down right after eating a meal you can experience acid reflux even if it was your lunch. A horizontal position where your esophagus is on the same level with the stomach or lower causes the content of the stomach to flow back into esophagus and this is what causes acid reflux. That’s why it is very important to keep the upper part of your body a bit higher when lying down after a meal. And you can do quite well even without taking drugs like Nexium.

Cardiac Arrhythmia

Cardiac arrhythmia is the diagnosis physicians give to patients with a heart rhythm that is too fast, too slow, irregular, or what I like to call ‘other pace’. Symptoms vary, but the most common complaint is fatigue. People with heart rate and/or rhythm changes are just SO tired! Their heart is not pumping strongly. It’s not able to get the blood with nutrients and oxygen to the cells efficiently.

A common arrhythmia is atrial fibrillation. Typically the FIRST line of medical treatment is with prescriptions, such as a beta blocker. A beta blocker “blocks”. What does it block? Electrical impulses. The goal is to get the heart to revert back to a regular rhythm. However, these medications may just slow the irregular rhythm, which may not get rid of the symptom of fatigue.

Some of the more common drugs are: Brevibloc (esmolol), Coreg (carvedilol), Inderal (propranolol), Lopressor (metoprolol), Sectral (acebutolol) **THAT ONE SOUNDS LIKE LIGHTER FLUID!, Tenormin (atenolol), Normodyne (labetalol), and Zebeta (bisoprolol)

If you or someone you know is on these, you also know that ‘beta blocker’ side effects are many.

One of the worst, is that it doesn’t work! The next step is to shock the heart back into a regular rhythm, or even having a procedure done to ‘cut’ the impulse pathway to slow the rate. Why might the drugs not work? It could be that they don’t address the cause. Let’s look at why a heart beat or rate might change.

Your body is intelligent. It will heal a cut, even if you don’t do anything for it (unless you have a chronic disease that doesn’t allow for healing). Here’s something else, your body will prioritize it’s needs. The brain, lungs, and heart have top billing. You can live without your bones and kidneys right? So, what happens? If your heart needs calcium, your body will take it from the bone. That’s just one example. Your body is constantly shifting in order to maintain balance, but if there’s too much need, it will sacrifice areas to maintain it’s top priorities.

I hope that makes sense to you. Here’s the good part. There may be a ‘simple’ alternate solution. Nutrition. What about heart healthy eating? Nutrition data is confusing at best. The medical community has been telling us for years to eat a low fat diet for heart health. Well, the number one cause of death is now cardiac! When people went to low fat, they went ALL the way! Good fats are essential for your body’s heart health. Essential vitamins, minerals and fats must be taken in as food. When you hear ‘essential fatty acids’, that’s the Omega fats, the ‘good’ fats.

You are NOT getting the nutrition your body needs to heal if you’re eating junk food, or even foods commonly bought at the grocery store. Your heart, and the rest of your body, needs REAL nutrition. Eating organic foods that are minimally processed and supplementing with quality essential vitamins, minerals, and fats are the key to heart health. What if your cardiac arrhythmia can be traced to nutritional deficiencies? Whether its calcium, magnesium, or good fats…the cause can be addressed and health restored.

How do you know what to do? Start with good nutrition and supplementation. See what happens. Your body will respond. When you’ve been chronically ill, there’s a lot of healing for your body to do. But, with today’s technology, it can do so much more quickly when given the right nutrition.

Cardiac arrhythmia is diagnosed by the medical doctor by listening to your complaints, listening to your heart, doing an ECG (EKG), and running lab tests. Ask your doctor for your lab tests. Did he run a ionized calcium and an ionized magnesium? Did he replace your nutrition through an IV line? That’s cellular nutrition! Now, let’s get more educated. It’s important to BALANCE your body’s nutrition. Otherwise, your body will continue to do it’s own thing. Adding one or two nutrients, like calcium and magnesium, without having the other vitamins and minerals, is like climbing a ladder without all the rungs.

Natural Genital Herpes Treatment Method and Theory of Oxygenation and Reduction of Acid within the Body

Based on the work of Dr.Otto Warbugh in the early 1900′s, and Dr. Theodore Baroody’s novel “Alkalize or Die” we have come to understand that the reduction of acid levels and the increase of oxygen levels in the body can provide a successful and cost effective genital herpes treatment. The herpes virus is anaerobic, which means it cannot exist in an elevated oxygen environment within the body. Increasing the body’s pH (alkalinity) will suppress the genital herpes and oral herpes virus to levels where one will not experience outbreaks and most, after treatment of their herpes for at least 5 months will never have to treat again (with the solutions described below)

The method proven by Dr. Otto Warbugh’s research is comprised of several parts, starting with the overall theory and education of this particular herpes treatment and followed by several key natural ingredients. Below we describe two out of the three of these ingredients and how they contribute to the overall process of pH stabilization.

B.O.L is a stabilized liquid oxygen (SLO) product that is a safe supplement containing stabilized oxygen in a liquid solution of water and salt. B.O.L. has a very high pH level compared with other SLO products, which means more oxygen (which the herpes virus cannot handle). The pH varies from 12 to 13.7 dependent on that particular factory batch which is much more than competing SLO products which contain an almost neutral pH of 7 and equal amounts of acidic hydrogen/alkaline hydroxyl ions. Typical people with acidic diets will have a very low pH and will need to rise it to at least 7.45, an oxygen rich level where the herpes virus cannot exist. Decreasing acidic intake along with taking B.O.L will assist in the process of increasing the body’s pH. The additional advantage to using B.O.L. compared with lower pH SLO is the excess oxygen (12-13 pH) is then used by the body to combat new incoming acids from stress, diet, and other factors.

Alkalife is another tool used along with B.O.L to help reduce acid levels in the body by reducing acid intake in beverages. Part of this treatment is a change in one’s diet and everyday thinking about what they put in their body. Many drinks however are acidic, and sometimes due to health, or personal taste one might want to consume these acidic liquids. This includes tea, coffee, beer, wine and most alcoholic drinks, all of which contain other health benefits which one would like to benefit from all the while maintaining a higher pH. Alkalife when added to your favorite drink like coffee or beer will reduce the acid levels to a point where your body can handle the acid and not cause build up of waste acid (which over time allows viruses like the herpes virus and others to proliferate).

When discussing acid intake from beverages the topic of “soda” cannot be ignored, diet and regular soda has a typical pH in the range from 2.5-3.5. Unlike less acidic drinks like the ones mentioned above (coffee, tea, beer) soda contains so much acid that even Alkalife and consumption of oxygen boosters like B.O.L. cannot return the body to a proper pH level. One needs to consider this fact when choosing to consume soda as it would have disastrous effects on your body not only from the sugar and calories but most importantly from the acid levels. The body’s bloodstream needs to maintain a steady pH of 7.3-7.45 and soda makes that extremely difficult, this causes homeostasis where the body encapsulates the waste acid. This build up of acid is again, what causes anaerobic viruses like the herpes virus to thrive and replicate within the human body.

A note for people who exercise a good deal and routinely go through ‘abnormal respiration’ and create lots of lactic acid in the process. This process is counter active to this herpes treatment procedure, and for at least the first 5 months, exercising should be limited to walking, or activities that won’t push a person beyond the anaerobic threshold. Once the pH is under control, limited exercise is allowed assuming the herpes virus, and outbreaks remain dormant.

Male Pattern Baldness & Treatment

Male pattern baldness is a condition and not a medical disorder, but it may cause anxiety or affect self-esteem. While advanced treatments for hair renewal is still a distant dream, baldness treatments like surgical procedures, plastic surgery, anti-hydrogen therapy, medications and immunotherapy are available to treat baldness. An advanced solution for treating baldness should stop hair loss and promote new hair growth at the same time. Prescription medication treatments such as Propecia have shown visible and effective results in treating male pattern baldness.

Propecia contains an active ingredient finasteride, which uses a tactical three-step defence mechanism to stop hair loss in men.

  • It blocks DHT and prevents further damage to follicles.
  • It allows the follicles to heal.
  • It promotes natural hair growth again.

Propecia is administered in a 1mg dosage tablet as a daily medication. It is suitable for all men aged 18 and above. Women and children should not use Propecia as it is strictly recommended only for men. A few users might experience subtle side effects due to either an allergy to finasteride or unsuitability due to first time usage. People suffering from prostate cancer, bladder muscle disorder, liver disease, stricture of urethra or urination problems are advised not to take Propecia. Like all prescription medications, Propecia exhibits certain side effects such as decreased amount of semen, difficulty in getting an erection and reduced desire for sex. The side effects are usually subside once the body gets accustomed to the medication with time.

Sleep Apnea Health Problems Can Be Serious

Sleep apnea is much more serious than many realize. Sleep apnea health problems can effect vital body functions, including heart attack, heart failure, high blood pressure, and a host of other problems. Don’t ignore sleep apnea – it could cost you your life.

Article:

Efforts to discover what causes sleep apnea have been intense, and although the actual cause may not have been identified, researchers have discovered that sleep apnea health problems can be serious.

There are several major risk factors for heart disease such as obesity, alcohol abuse, and smoking, but you might be surprised to find out that sleep apnea is also a major risk factor. Combine any of these factors, and the risk doubles for serious sleep apnea health problems. For example, if you are obese and you suffer from sleep apnea, then your risk of heart problems increases.

If your sleep apnea is treated with a sleep apnea device such as CPAP, you reduce or even eliminate your risks. However, if you do not seek treatment when your breathing stops during an apnea attack, the levels of carbon dioxide in your blood increase while the levels of oxygen drop off. This effect causes a variety of chemical and physical events to occur that can increase your risk for heart problems.

Sleep apnea health problems increase the longer the apnea remains untreated. Sleep apnea will decrease the levels of gas nitric oxide in the blood, which is an important substance for heart health. The reduced levels raise the risk of heart problems.

Apnea also increases the angiotensin converting enzyme, which plays a role in congestive heart failure and high blood pressure. High levels of this enzyme exacerbate your sleep apnea health problems. Other chemical changes involved also increase your risk for heart problems.

There is still much research needed to define just how all of these changes affect the heart and just how serious the impact is to the health of your heart. With treatments available, why take the risk? Why not use a sleep apnea device like CPAP?

Studies have made direct correlations with the following sleep apnea health problems. If you suffer from sleep apnea, consider these risks if you choose to ignore using one of the sleep apnea device treatments.

High Blood Pressure – Several studies have correlated sleep apnea with high blood pressure. A study conducted in 2004 for sleep apnea health problems found that the more apnea episodes you had in the first year, the more likely you were to have high blood pressure by the time year four came around.

Blood pressure will have wide fluctuations in response to the apnea episode. These fluctuations might be a result of the sympathetic nervous system sudden surge. It’s these fluctuations, which lead to the blood vessels constricting, and over time, this leads to high blood pressure and the possibility of heart damage.

Effective treatments like the CPAP sleep apnea device allow your airways to remain open, which means your blood pressure will be lowered. Only partial reduction of sleep apnea does not have the positive effective. It must be a substantial reduction.

Of the many sleep apnea health problems, coronary artery disease and heart attack are the two most serious. Studies have confirmed that the more apnea episodes you have the higher your risk of heart attack, stroke, and coronary artery disease. This is especially true in older adults. Do you still want to ignore treatment such as CPAP?

If you have sleep apnea, you double your risk for stroke. The worse the episodes, the greater the risk you face. Severe sleep apnea can triple your risk of stroke. And stroke sufferers with sleep apnea have symptoms that are worse, such as poor speech response, depression, delirium, and difficulty with daily activities. Another good reason to use a sleep apnea device is to reduce your risk of developing sleep apnea health problems.

37% of all heart failure patience had sleep apnea, and if you have existing congestive heart failure with sleep apnea, your risk of death goes up.

Other sleep apnea health problems that have been directly linked to sleep apnea

* Peripheral nerve damage * Asthma * Diabetes * Kidney failure * Eye disorders * Liver damage * Seizures * Nerve disorders * High-risk pregnancies * Headaches * Irregular menstrual periods

Now that you know just a few of the sleep apnea health problems are you ready to seek treatment?
